Looks like we may stay here in southern Cali after all. I just spoke to my oldest sister, who told me to just listen to N's complaints but to do nothing else about it. N has a tendency to make huge deals about otherwise small matters. We're not necessarily financially out of it and we can still live here as long as she's happy and can stay active by being independent.
Which shifts my plans a bit. I'll have to start job hunting locally at the end of summer, keep volunteering at the museum, start working on some kind of social life (no dumb flaky types, I want real friends who actually think for and can articulate themselves) and just generally focus on my end of the deal and not worry so much about N. Guess the thunderstorms will have to wait for a while. I'm fine with staying here.
But I wish I could have a kitten.
